PH Girls Survive, Rain Wins Rest of Day....

Ashley Samuels' single in the second inning scored pinch-runner Beth Ford, and Emma Mitchell and the Patrick Henry defense made it stand as the Patriots advanced to the Colonial District Softball Tournament Finals Tuesday afternoon with a 1-0 victory over Mills Godwin.  The Eagles loaded the bases in the third inning but could not score and left two stranded in the fifth inning.  Mitchell struck out two of the three batters in the seventh to shut down Godwin for good.

The Patriots advance to play Deep Run, 1-0 winners over J.R. Tucker in the other semifinal, in the tournament championship game Thursday at 7pm, weather permitting, at Mills Godwin.
