Boys Basketball: Hermitage 76, Patrick Henry 65

Hermitage used a 28 point second quarter to build a 19-point halftime lead, then spent the second half holding off the pesky Patriots of Patrick Henry for a 76-65 win Friday night.

D'Vonta Derricott led all scorers with 27 points and 9 rebounds in his final regular season contest against his former school. Twelve of his points came during the pivotal second period, where the Panthers outscored the Patriots 28-10 for a 38-19 halftime lead.

The Patriots got the lead down to five points late in the third period before Hermitage went on a 6-0 run in the period's final minute for a 54-43 lead.

Raymon Minor scored 11 of his team-high 25 points in the third quarter comeback attempt. A.J. Jackson scored two key three-pointers during that run.

The Patriots fall to 10-9 overall, 6-8 in the Colonial District. The Patriots step out of district Monday night with a trip to Mechanicsville to battle their oldest rival, Lee-Davis.
