Jessica Holte outdueled Glen Allen's Brianna Tarzia, striking out nine and driving in the winning run as Atlee remained unbeaten in the Capital District with a 2-1 thrilling win over the Jaguars Tuesday night.
Shelby Hill drove in the other Atlee run. Holte's big hit came in the sixth inning. The two teams combined for only five hits in the game.
Atlee is now 4-0 in the Capital District, 8-1 overall, and next face Highland Springs at home on Friday night.
Atlee welcomes Lee-Davis next Tuesday night in what shapes up to be a battle for first place in the Capital District. First, Atlee must defeat the Springers, and Lee-Davis will have to get past pesky Glen Allen when they come to Mechanicsville Friday night.
