If there was going to be a hiccup, a bump in the Capital District road for the Atlee Raiders girls volleyball team, it was probably going to be tonight when they traveled to face Lee-Davis. The Confederates are considered the team with the most talent and best opportunity to knock off Atlee in regular season play.
Atlee passed another early season test with flying colors tonight, sweeping Lee-Davis Thursday night 25-18, 25-16, 25-8.
Head Coach Curtis Carpenter was happy to have this one behind him. Senior Hailey Brooks took over the game for good with seven aces in the first ten points of the third game to give the Raiders a 10-1 advantage, cruising to the final set win.
Atlee next plays at Armstrong Tuesday night.....
