Field Hockey: First Atlee Win Over Hanover In 2 Years

Yes, Hanover lost 17 players to graduation from their 2011 Group AAA state runner-up team.  But with some 40 players on the roster last year, the Atlee Raiders were taking nothing for granted Monday afternoon.

The goal: play their game.  And they did. A first half goal by Anna Maimone and a second half tally by Hayley Martin, coupled by stellar goaltending by Hayley Smith pushed Atlee to a 2-0 win over the Hawks at home Monday afternoon.

The Raiders improve to 3-0 in the Capital, 5-0 overall with their first win over Hanover since 2009.  The Hawks are now 1-1 in the Capital, 1-3 overall.

---Meanwhile, Lee-Davis creeps up in the Capital District with an easy 8-0 win over Highland Springs Monday evening.  The C-Feds are now tied with Hanover in the district at 1-1 and are 3-1 overall.
