THURSDAY FINALS: Hanover's Mitchum Pitches No-Hitter....

In a game heard live on HCS Media Network, Hanover senior pitcher Kiandra Mitchum tossed a no-hitter as the Hawks softball team moved to 2-0 with a 7-0 shutout of Monacan Thursday evening.

Mitchum walked the first batter she faced in the first inning, then proceeded to retire the next 21 straight batters. She had 16 strikeouts overall, and was the beneficiary of three great plays by all three Hanover outfielders: Jessica McLaughlin, Mackenzie Wyatt, and Lacey Sullivan.

Meanwhile, Atlee moved to 2-0, crushing Hermitage 15-0 in five innings. The stage is set for the 2-0 Hawks to travel to face the 2-0 Raiders this Tuesday night.
