THE WRAP: Weather Disrupts Conference Semis (with Updated Schedules)

The expected stormy weather arrived first at Hanover High School, where Semifinal Wednesday barely began, then eventually arrived at Deep Run, where action was suspended due to a major electrical storm.

Except for a half-inning of softball, there was no action at the Conference 20 Jubilee at Hanover, as storms descended upon the area just before the 5pm start time. Over at Deep Run, only one game lasted long enough to become official, while two others were suspended as storms jammed pack with torrential rain and tremendous lightning overcame the West End.

Below are the updated schedules for both Conference Tournament Semifinal Rounds, including resumption of suspended games as well as a venue change for two matches tomorrow:

CONFERENCE 11 (at Deep Run HS):

BASEBALL:
Atlee 0, Douglas Freeman 0, top 4th (will resume Thursday at 5pm)
Hermitage vs. Mills Godwin, approximately 20-25 minutes after first game

SOFTBALL:
Atlee 7, Deep Run 3, bottom 3rd (one out, runner at 1st; will resume Thursday at 5pm)
Mills Godwin vs. Lee-Davis, approximately 20-25 minutes after first game
