PH, Lee-Davis Softball keep rolling...

Patrick Henry remained unbeaten in 2012 with a 13-1, 6-inning victory at home Friday afternoon over Hermitage.

Emma Mitchell scattered four hits (three alone by Taylor Francisco) while striking out ten. Two errors and Francisco's final hit, an infield single, helped Hermitage score its run. By this time, it was already 9-1, as Patrick Henry scored five runs in the first, three in the third and one in the fourth.

Madison Gilman blasted a grand slam home run in the bottom of the sixth to end the game. Gilman finished 3-for-4, with two runs scored and 6 RBI. She was a triple short of hitting for the cycle. The Patriots are now 10-0 in the Colonial, 13-0 overall, and the consensus number one team in the Central Region.

Lee-Davis ran its winning streak to twelve games, breaking open a pitchers duel with a run in the fifth and three in the sixth to defeat J.R. Tucker in non-District play, 4-0. Lauren McIntyre went the distance again, allowing only two hits on the night.

Lee-Davis, ranked second in the Times-Dispatch Top Ten, travel to Prince George to take on the Royals, who are ranked #3 in the Region, on Monday night at 6pm. We'll have LIVE score updates on Twitter (@WHANRadio).
