(RVASN correspondent Taylor Luck contributes this report on Patrick Henry boys volleyball win over Lee-Davis....)
It took an all-around team effort and some spectacular play from seniors Cole Carrano, Dalton Nash, and George Stiles, but the Patrick Henry boys volleyball team defeated Lee-Davis Tuesday night. Both teams played strict defense, but by the end of the match Lee-Davis simply made too many mistakes and Patrick Henry was able to pull ahead and secure a win on the road.
The Patriots took the first set by a score of 25-20 on the back of libero George Stiles, but dropped the second set 25-20. PH bounced back and blew out L-D in the third set 25-18, and secured the win in the fourth set 25-20 en route to a 3-1 victory over the Confederates.
Patrick Henry improved to 7-3 on the year, and play at home Wednesday against Deep Run and next Tuesday against Atlee. The Patriots then hit the road to face Henrico on Thursday, October 1st.
Lee Davis fell to 2-5 with a 1-2 conference record. They play on the road on Thursday at Henrico and next Tuesday at Hanover before heading back home to face Armstrong on October 1st.
